List of Alcohol[]

Ales[]

  • Dwarovar Dark: crafted by the dwarves and the most potent ale on the planet. Will outright kill non-dwarves.
  • Small Beer: a broad term for the variety of lightly alcoholic beers drank in much of Cannor, outside of Lorent and Pearlsedge which see significant preference towards wine among all but the poorest. Drank more for nutrition than pleasure.
  • Banana Beer: A beer brewed from bananas by the Vyzemby halflings.
  • Teethbreaker: A beer brewed by the half-orcs of the Chipped Tooth Company. Cause of immense pain to the teeth if not swallowed quickly, it is common among half-orcs to bet on who can hold it in their mouth for the longest.
  • Escanni Dark: An ale brewed with a mixture of fungi and beer created by the Stone Dwarves. It was created after the reclamation of the Dwarovar which brought in many drinks and ales back the surface. However many drinks from the Dwarovar were completely inaccessible to non-dwarves due to drinks like "Dwarovar dark" killing non-dwarves. To solve this the Surface Dwarves mixed fungi drinks with local beers, allowing it to be consumed by non-dwarves. Though the drink's taste would be middling at best it still became popular due to the alure of being able to drink a "Dwarovar" ale and because of the drink's strength.

Meads[]

  • Skaldsmead: a Gerudian mead produced by the skalds of Skaldskola and used domestically as well as exported abroad in smaller amounts. Since the Greentide, it has been exported less due to the disappearance of the Escanni market. It is a semi-sweet mead flavoured with spices, though the specific spices involved are a well-kept secret. The ritual magic involved in its creation makes the drinker better at convincing others and remembering information making it popular amongst orators and ministers.
  • Brother Otó's Goldenhill Mead: A Beepeckan mead produced by the halfling Begga monk Brother Otó, named after the hill upon which Oto's monastery stood where he made the first batch, this mead has lower strength and hop concentration, made up by its strong locally sourced honey and the sweet taste and aroma that it gives off. With a caramel color, this mead produces a light frothy foam that tastes of the apple and elderberry spice mix inside. Supplemented by malt, this mead has a creamy, smooth flow and feel. As a staple of the Beepeck community, this mead is used in Brother Otó's Meadery's yearly charity event and generally sold as a must-try among tourists.

Ciders[]

  • Appleton Cider: a sparkling cider produced in Appleton, known for its popularity during harvest festivals and its blending of sweet and tart notes.

Perries[]

  • Pearview Perry: a sparkling perry made from the pears of Pearview, it is sweeter than its cider cousin to the south but no less strong.

Kumis[]

  • Haraig: Fermented mares milk made on an industrial scale in Haraigizenhi distilleries in the Lake Federation.

Spirits[]

  • Giberdi Sweet: a gnomish liqueur popular amongst the river parties of Esmaria. Comes in multiple colours, though black yellows and pinks are the most common.
  • Viswall Brandy: a mixed apple & pear brandy produced in Viswall, it is exported to the lords of *Lorent and Gawed as well as the merchants of Beepeck. The flavor is a mixture of the expected sweetness of apples and pears complementing a surprising earthy spiciness. Usually drank as part of a cocktail including fresh apple or pear slices, honey from Beepeck, and citrus juice.
  • Pheni: made from cashew paste in Nagar Vyechi. A very strong and common drink known for raising the mood of even the angriest being.
  • Sweetsting: a colourless Vernman sweet liqeur made from star anise and other ingredients brought back by Vernmen explorers from Haless.
  • Wyvern's Breath: a flaming cocktail made primarily from Sweetsting that involves an elaborate Nimrithani ritual. Done on a glass on top of a saucer, a gust of flame explodes from the saucer creating a backdraft of flame akin to a fire breath. The drinker then uses a straw to consume the liquid and the vapours.
  • Diohúis: A plum brandy from Plumwall. Meaning "burning water", its exceptionally high alcohol content and unique taste makes it popular among Dwarves and Gnomes alike.
  • Moniang: Known colloquially as "The Devil's Brew", this spirit, brewed in Yanshen, is one of the strongest in Halann. Strong enough to inebriate an Oni, which historically has ranked it as an important tribute to them from Yuanszi. A single shot is capable of incapacitating a mere human, though that does not stop glory-seekers from venturing to Yuanszi to partake of this brew even to this day.

Wines[]

Red[]

  • Rubenaire Red: the most popular red wine with many different variations, though mostly known for its earthy herbal taste. Perfected by the elven winemaker Filendor Gladeguard, husband of Eléanore síl Rubenaire.
  • Saloren Blue: made from the dark-blue grapes, this wine takes a purplish colour and is often called "Damerian Wine" due to its unusual origin outside of Lorent. Known for its tannic taste.
  • Roilsard: a medium fruity dry red with a hint of spice, known for its acidity. While often compared with its Saloreni cousin, the *Roilsardi wine is usually stronger with a higher alcohol content. Often served with roasted foods.
  • Toarnen Black: A variant of Roilsardi wine grown in Toarnen; the difference in local climate gives it a darker colour and stronger spice flavour.
  • Redglade Fíonca: an soft and fruity elven wine known for its pleasant strawberry aroma.
  • Busilari Fortified: a sweet fortified wine made in Busilar, often drunk after dessert.
  • Red Lineage: Said to be based off the colour of the ancient Lorentish king Lorenan the Great's blood. This wine is known for its very dark colour and its bold taste - often paired with very rich meats, and thus only seen amongst the cellars of the most prosperous and powerful. No one knows where it's made.
  • Menibór (Bridgewine): a moderately strong red wine with spicy notes and a high acidity, Menibór is popular among Vernmen and adventuring types, and pairs well with roast boar and sausages of many varieties.
  • Chylys: a strong red wine known for its unique tasting notes, of apples and maple syrup, which is produced in the terraced hills of the Deepwoods and traditionally stored in feywood barrels.
  • Spring of Terr: a light but complex wine that adds the waters of Terr's springs in the fermentation process.
  • Azkapas: A purple-reddish fortified wine famous for its deep colour and rich flavour. Made from sun dried grapes grown on terraces surrounding Azka-szel-Azka.
  • Horpanas Tyerna: A dark dry red that has been grown for centuries in region of Horpanas. While Arverynn was the capital of the Ynnic Empire this wine was famed for the complex flavor and how incredibly well it aged. One of the most precious possessions of the Vyrekynn dynasty is a batch of these wines from the year 1244, magically enchanted to never spoil, and one can only speculate how immaculate these bottles must taste.
  • Issushi: A wine from the Bloodgroves, environmental stresses to the grapevines here give it a unique colour and flavour. Its strong red colour and a somewhat salty and flinty taste is described by some as reminiscent of blood.
  • Love Wine: A dwarven wine grown in Ovdal Lodhum, commonly associated with honeymoons and romance.

White[]

  • Pearl Vintage: a sparkling white wine and one of the most prestigious wines on the market. Known for its light and dry taste, and how well it pairs with a variety of seafoods.
  • Pearl Modern: a non-sparkling sweet wine known for its vanilla aroma, often paired with dessert. Would become very popular when the cultivation of noble rot in the 1470s allowed it to compete with Jaherian Sunlight.
  • Madalairey White: a rich-tasting wine, very popular at its home in Lorent. Often served with creamy foods and white meats.
  • Varilleni Dry: a white wine created by the elves of Ibevar. Known for its dry taste and commonly paired with the vegetable-heavy elven cuisine.
  • Varilleni Special: a special variant of the Varilleni Dry, infused with magic that makes it luminescent along with subtly altering its flavour to cater to the users palate or meal.
  • Jaherian Sunlight: a rare and prized wine by the sun-elven winemakers of Bulwar, made from dried raisins and left to ferment in the sun. Known for its sweet taste.
  • Stalbór Sparkle: a sparkling white wine known for its sharp taste.

Rosé[]

  • Eilísin Tríros (the Threerose): a fruity and lean wine, and the most popular one in the market due to its suitability for both casual and formal occasions and food.
  • Sorncóst: a dry wine is widely popular amongst the warm climates and richly-flavoured cuisines of the Divenhal.
  • Minara's Succor (commonly known as Succor): a very sweet and pink-coloured wine with a very high alcohol content, commonly found amongst the river lords of Esmaria. Known for its strong apple aroma.
  • Rósande: a fruity but very strong wine, popular amongst the nobility in Escann.

Fruit wine

  • Velenynn Emerald: A fruit wine made of various berries found in the green forests of Velenynn, it has a tart taste and a green tint due to the water from which it is made of the Velenynn river. It is considered an acquired taste for most Cannorians, and drinking it without pulling a face is seen as a rite of passing for those who wish to become Sarnik.

Palm wine[]

  • Kaino drink: A palm wine made by the Kaino people, popular in Negefaama.
