Vertesk (Old Castanorian: Highriver) is an ancient city at the northern end of the Dameshead at the mouth of the Alen River. It was founded as a Castanorian colony in 593 BA with the construction of the citadel of Bal Vertesk and later played a major role in the War of the Sorcerer-King as the capital of the Vertesk Dominion. It would eventually be subsumed into the Empire of Anbennar and made a Free City.
