Goshollirnat is a merfolk who claims to possess the title of Field Chronicler. A notorious circumlocutionist and bad poet, his vainglorious antics carried him across Halann's seas to speak, profess, and instruct along water edges for any and all who are (un)fortunate enough to listen. Initially treated as a Chronicler fraud, his performances and works have appeared in libraries and reserves, approved and sealed without prior memory.
Early life[]
As a merfolk, Goshollirnat's early life is assumed to have begun in one of Halann's vast oceans, although the merfolk has been sparse on specifics relating to his place of birth, family, or even nationality. When pressed, he replied: "The seas I spawn, the seas I swim, the seas I weave, the seas I shall dissolve."
Appearance, Notoriety, and Current Whereabouts[]
The earliest confirmed appearance of Goshollirnat occurred in Teramzadai in 1890. Tailing after a Busilari steamer carrying fresh cloves, the merfolk climbed aboard the ship to explain the wondrous and notable history of the Vyzemby Halflings, their religion, and how Sarhal dominated the world in culinary might. Appearing at least once a month thereafter along Sarhal's coast, Goshollirnat began claiming, without present accreditation or license, his orientation with the Order of Chroniclers. Drawing the ire of traveling Chroniclers, he became an international headache for the organization, but archivists discovered records showing his notable involvement for projects and works dating back to at least 1870.
The merfolk Chronicler is still undergoing an extensive investigation by the order, yet he continues to speak and teach at random locations across the world, often without fanfare or notice.
Notable Speeches and Works[]
Confirmed sightings include:
- ‘Of Friends, Foes, and Fish': A series of long-winded stories delivered to passerby along Ekha's docks in 1894; one of the event highlights recounted the relatively unknown memoirs of Field Chronicler Ux Limptooth and her with friendship with Bagadmara "Elk Wearer".
