The history of Bulwar is ancient and vast, with the first written records appearing after the subcontinent was settled by the Djinn around 3800 BA. While our knowledge of this period is vague, we have evidence of the human inhabitants of the region: the Bulwari, who overthrew the Šedu around 2800 BA, starting the first period of Bulwari history, the Age of God-kings.

Šedu Sultanates[]

Šedu Sultanates is the name given to the oldest period of Bulwari history, lasting from around 3800 BA to 2800 BA. In this period, Bulwar was settled by the Djinn known as Šedu, who built cities and palaces in the Suran Plain, and became masters of the human tribes that inhabited the region. Most of the information is fragmentary, and it's mostly known thanks to archeology and the study of Bulwari mythology and sources from the Age of God-kings.

Ancient Bulwar[]

Ancient Bulwar describes the history of Bulwar from around 2800 BA to the fall of Karqašlu in 1134 BA. It is in this time that we see the rise of Bulwari civilisation and the appearance of the first God-Kings of Bulwar and the first invasion through Invader's Pass from the Forbidden Plains. It also sees the downfall of both, setting up Bulwar's state during the Age of Antiquity.

Age of Monsters[]

Main article: Bulwari Age of Monsters

The Age of Monsters is a period of time in Bulwari history from the fall of Karqašlu in 1134 BA to the death of Castan II in 568 BA. It describes the rise of the subsequent monstrous dominions and invasions of Bulwar, starting with the Harpy Queendom, which is followed by the invasion of the gnolls and their four century long influence over the region. It culminates in the Great Xhaz and the Xhazobine's wars in and around the Salahad to spread a new demonic cult, until she finally falls to the Castanorians and they establish their influence over Bulwar.

Age of Cinders[]

Main article: Bulwari Age of Cinders

The Age of Cinders is the period of Bulwar's history that succeeds the Age of the Phoenix. It commonly starts in 1162 after the death of Empress Jexis and the fall of her empire, and lasts until the beginning of the Jaddari conquests of the Bulwar plains in 1492, starting the Age of the Dancing Sun.
