Kui was a Vurebindu warlord in Horashesh who led a peasant revolt against the Irsukubu ruling class and established the Kingdom of Kuiika. Born as the bastard son to a powerful noble in the 10th century, he gained many supporters during his rise to power, and was the primary force behind toppling the Irsukubu Confederacy that had dominated Horashesh in the centuries before.
Kui’s most famous act was when he declared himself to be divine at the base of the Gamyi spire. As he was part way through his announcement, the spire lit up and started to sparkle. The spire was already believed to have been left by the creator god Zuvanofa, so responding to his speech was seen as proof of his divinity by the people of Horashesh. The spire was renamed the Kuiika Gamyi and Kui himself became a subject of worship for followers of the Noukahi Pantheon for many centuries after.
