Malenvijer or Bladed Beast of Mocvare is a centuries-old alligator living in the Ynnic swamps near Mocvare, famous for the blade lodged in its skull, Escalynnvec. All attempts to recover the blade or slay Malenvijer have failed.
Origins[]
Malenvijer is rumoured to have existed in the waters around Mocvare since the city's original founding as Vareped, with an ancient cult worshiping this creature dating even earlier. Nonetheless, the most undisputed sighting of the Beast was in 1018 AA.
Precusor Spellblade[]
Cannorian analysts determined the blade lodged in Malenvijer's skull to be a Precursor Elf spellblade, making it one of the few confirmed precursor relics in the Ynn.
Attempts to retrieve the blade remain unsuccessful to this day both due to the creature's elusiveness and its extraordinary resilience.
The Blade in the Beast[]
After several failed attempts to vanquish the beast throughout the centuries, a legend has developed saying that any who can pry Escalynnvec free from its skull earns the right to rule the entire Ynn.
