Merfolk are fish-people that are believed to be Ruinborn by Cannorians, having arrived in Sarhal a few decades after the Day of Ashen Skies and seemingly coming from the direction of Aelantir. Later scholars come to believe that they are a form of degenerated ruinborn elf.
