The Dwarven Empire, also known as Kingdom of All Dwarves (roughly translated to Aul-Dwarov in Dwarven), was a continent-spanning empire stretching across the entirety of the Serpentspine Mountains. Ancient texts say that Aul-Dwarov was founded around ~23,000 BA in response to the Realm of the Ice Giants and slowly met its end during the event known as the Last Days of the Dwarovar (which itself lasted for thousands of years) when the orcish race rose up and destroyed the empire.

Government[]

Aul-Dwarov was ruled by a High King who bore the legendary Dwarovkron. Beneath him were the numerous lesser kings that ruled over the dwarven clans.

Like most dwarven states, Aul-Dwarov was ruled by an assembly, a legislative body that worked similarly to the Damerian parliament, representing the various clans within the hold. Aul-Dwarov in particular, was home to the unique High Assembly or Amlharaz, which was a council that comprised of the lesser kings and their most powerful subjects.

Economy[]

Due to its subterranean nature, Aul-Dwarov was a major source and producer of metals. In particular, it had a monopoly on the production of mithril. Each dwarven hold specialized in the production of a different metal or in the provision of a unique service based on the natural resources and opportunities available within said hold - an early example, some scholars say, of a centrally-planned economy.

Transportation[]

The internal economy of Aul-Dwarov was greatly facilitated by the construction of the Dwarovar Railway, which connected the various dwarven holds. Its rails were made from constantly-electrified Dagrite, which permitted the railway's tracks to self-repair and powered the trains which carried manpower and goods across the Dwarovar. Its hub was Er-Natvir, and its fall to orcish incursions was instrumental in catalyzing the eventual collapse of Aul-Dwarov.
