'''Vertesk''' (Old Castanorian: ''Highriver'') is an ancient city at the northern end of the [[Dameshead]] at the mouth of the [[Alen River]]. It was founded as a [[Castanorian]] colony in 593 BA with the construction of the citadel of [[Bal Vertesk]] and later played a major role in the [[War of the Sorcerer King]] as the capital of the [[Vertesk Dominion]]. It would eventually be subsumed into the [[Empire of Anbennar]] and made a Free City.
