The Silmuna School of the Arts (or simply, the Silmuna School) is the oldest magical school in Cannor, residing in the outskirts of Anbenncóst, and founded by Marion I Silmuna in 1024. While initially starting as a school of magic, the Silmuna School eventually branched out into other subjects such as humanities, sciences and law, though aside from magic, the school is most famous for its artists. The school itself is regarded as the most prestigious school in the continent, with only the richest and most talented allowed admission.
Magical Style[]
The Freeform Style is predominant spellcasting style taught at the school, favouring creativity and fine-tuned spellcasting over simply reciting words and movement out of a manual. Silmuna School mages are encouraged to modify existing spells to their own preferences, which either end up in inefficient flashy spells or incredibly powerful flexible magics (mostly the former). As per the Freeform Style, the majority use wands and rings as spellcasting aides as they are the most capable of fine-tuning spells, though many adherants use staves or other aides to their preference.
