Vincenton is one of the largest cities in Cestirmark proper, alongside the town of Cestirmark itself and Arangreen.

History[]

The town was founded by Adventurer-captain Vincen, then on the quest for the birthplace of the Precursor Empire alongside Torrieth Godspeaker. As they discovered not only what they were looking for but also the God Fragment, the expedition headed back towards the coast and was gifted land by the mayor of Cestirmark to set up a base, which was named Vincenton after the captain. The city soon grew due to Cestirmarkers heading west, but also adventurers and scholars attracted by the news of the discovery.

Ravelianism[]

Academics often did not wish to brave the untamed aelantiri wilderness and rather than head inland to join Torrieth on the site of the discovery, prefered to stay in Vincenton and help the study from afar. This made Vincenton into one of the earliest centers of learning of the cannorian colonies. Many of them were members of the Ravelian Society, eventually leading the rest of the Society to take interest in the God Fragment.

When the Ravelian faith was proclaimed, Vincenton became home to an archprovost due to being the oldest Ravelian presence in Noruin. The archprovost of Vincenton would then became the traditional rival of Port Isobel's archprovost, as both claimed jurisdiction over the entire Trollsbay. This dispute kept escalating until the High Rector demoted them both in 1850 and assigned a single archprovost in Thílvis.

The path from Vincenton to the God Fragment came to be known as the Path of Truth. The two are not close and while it can be driven through in less than a day with a modern motorcart, it was a quite dangerous trip in colonial times. The Path of Truth became a pilgrimage route for the Ravelian faith.

The Bureau[]

Some rumors claim that a secret government agency operates from Vincenton, but the Cestirmarker government has always refused to comment on the matter and none of those conspiracy theorists was ever able to provide a proof.
